![]() The latest upload of my plugin is at look for MorayExportOSC.zip - it should contain all the info you need to set it up. It's not generated a lot of interest in the community as far as I can tell, so I've not been inclined to brush-up the code much - it is definitely still pre-version-0! But if you install Moray and create some basic scenes, you can see the POVRay / OpenSCAD equivalences by inspecting the POV file generated by Moray, and the OpenSCAD file generated by my Moray plugin. Note, however, that POVRay supports shapes that OpenSCAD (currently) does not, and also that OpenSCAD supports some shapes that POVRay (to my knowledge) does not!Īs a POVRay user, I'm assuming you are aware of the Moray modeller? I have written a plugin for Moray which will export directly to OpenSCAD (at least, it exports a number of the most important primitives). In terms of basic geometry, on the other hand, it's actually not too bad. You would have to transcode loops and other language constructs to the OpenSCAD syntax. Thanks in advance for any help and looking forward to digging in more over time.Īs far as converting 'complicated' POVRay code is concerned, it's not entirely a simple matter. I'd be really grateful if someone could give me a thumbnail explanation on how to do this or even an idiots step by step guide as i have long wanted to test in my downstream software and i am afraid that it will take me a long time to study up on OpenSCAD to start these experiments if i do it on my own.
